Dr. Mayreli Ortiz (Cuba, 1978) received her BSc (08/2000) and Ph.D. (01/2006) degrees in Chemistry from the University of Havana (Cuba). In 2002 she was appointed Graduate Instructor and in 2006 Research Associate of the Department of Inorganic Chemistry of the University of Havana. In November 2006 she received a postdoctoral fellowship from Fundaci?n Carolina (Spain) to work in the Department of Organic Chemistry of Universidad Aut?noma de Madrid, Spain. Dr. Mayreli Ortiz joined Interfibio Group as researcher fellow in 2007 and in 2009 she received a Marie Curie Incoming International Fellowship at URV to work on electrochemiluminescent biosensors. Since 2012 she has worked as researcher and Director of Research in several European and National Projects, and published 39 papers in per-reviewed journals.

Her main research interests are in the application of spectroscopic techniques in electroactive surface modification for bioanalysis, biosensors, next generation molecular tools and electrochemiluminescense.
